The road first drew international attention when a video of a Tesla navigating its narrow bends went viral online. Yet its greatest story is not about technology, but about the people who built it. Between 2001 and 2005, local villagers spent four years carving the road into solid rock using steel drills, hammers, and sheer determination. For generations, the surrounding mountains had isolated their community. The completion of the road transformed access to the outside world, improving transportation and creating new opportunities for tourism and local development.
